WhyPark.com Domain Name Parking Review
The following text represents my thoughts on the usage of the WhyPark parking provider service in the form of a WhyPark review.
WhyPark is an unconventional domain name parking program provider. You pay WhyPark a one time fee of $99.95 and they let you host 100 domain names. That’s $1 to host one domain name. There are no renewal fees so this fee is payed only once in your lifetime.
Before you freak out about the cost of the WhyPark parking program you should consider what you get by paying for the service.
Firstly, the $99.99 for 100 domain names means you pay WhyPark $1 per domain name for a lifetime of hosting. Quite unbelievable actually - but true.
Secondly, you have to understand that WhyPark is NOT your usual run of the mill parking provider. Usually, parking providers only allow you to add domain names, choose some retarded template and put yourself to at the mercy of the provider in terms of how much you get payed for clicks that occur on your parked domain names.
WhyPark provides you with a collection of great templates to choose from. If you know basic CSS and HTML skills, you can create your own templates. There is no limit to what you can do in terms of presentation as you can basically create any look you want for your parked domain pages.
WhyPark also provides user friendly blocks where you can add your own monetization code (Google AdSense, Yahoo Publisher Network etc) and tracking scripts (Google Analytics, Stat Counter etc) inside your parked templates.
So, not only do you have absolute control over what your parked domain names earn, you also have absolute control over your domain name statistics instead of relying on some parking provider controlled stat counter.
In addition, at WhyPark you have the option to populate your parked site with high quality articles which means you increase your SEO score by providing relevant content to your parked domain name visitors. In the eyes of search engines, nothing beats relevant content.
In order to boost your SEO score further, WhyPark also allows you to create an automated Google sitemap. WhyPark will generate a sitemap for you at http://www.yoursitehere.com/google-sitemap.cfm. You can submit this to the Google Webmaster Tools program and it is very likely Google will index your page in days. By getting your parked page indexed by Google, you increase your chances of getting more natural search engine traffic.
In addition to all of the above, you should also utilize the WhyPark custom pages feature. Creating WhyPark custom pages is absolutely free once your domain names are parked at WhyPark. By creating custom WhyPark pages, you can add your own unique articles which is an extra plus for your SEO score. So what you are basically doing is creating a complete website for your domain for the cost of $1 per domain for life! Now tell me, where else can you get more for your money?
Using WhyPark is very easy indeed. Once you sign up you proceed to your WhyPark domain manager where you add the domain names you wish to park. Once parked, you check whether your articles have been generated. If you wish to add custom pages this is the time to do that as well.
To further boost the traffic to your parked domain names you can do some of the following:
1. Blog about your newly parked WhyPark domain names. Because your parked pages contain proper content and articles, you will not be penalized by search engines since you are providing relevant content.
2. Put your parked domain names in your forum signature. You will not only get more traffic but will also increase your chance of getting your domain names indexed quickly.
3. Submit your domain names to search engines. Because WhyPark provides you with the sitemap feature, you can submit your sitemap to Yahoo and Google.
4. Write articles about content relevant to your WhyPark parked domain names and reference your domain names from the article resource box. Submit these articles to article directories like EzineArticles.com.
Overall, I have moved from Parked to WhyPark some 3 months ago and I could not be happier. The traffic to my parked domain names has increased due the SEO features provided by WhyPark. In addition, I have been able to optimize my ad placement and ad content for optimized monetization and improve my bottom line.
I recommend you head on over to WhyPark and sign up - it’s a definite winner.

I have been sitting on the fence with WhyPark.com for some time. I would imagine if you put in the word to add your own content you could do ok. However from what I have read my domainers say they have made very little with WhyPark.com
Coming from an seo background one big no no is adding duplicate content - and that is exactly what you get with whypark unless you create your own unique articles.
Have you ever tried this service yourself?

I’ve had some quite good experience with it, and know a couple of people that have too. Customizing the content helps a lot.
Also, if you have a domain with natural traffic, putting your own adsense or other ads in place and customizing the templates/content can really up your earnings and also increase the value of your domains.

Perhaps I am missing something here - not surprising, as I usually do ;0) - but wouldn’t it be better to host your own domains (using an account that allows unlimited domains) then add your own information to your domains using wordpress, etc.
I like the concept of WhyPark, but it seems to me that domains don’t need to be parked at all when they can be privately hosted at a similar cost.
I suppose it depends on how many domains you own.

Val, exactly. If you own one domain and have the time to set up WP and follow through with content then by all means do that. You also have to consider that if you get any sort of traffic you have to fork out some $15 or $20 per domain per month for the hosting.
WhyPark is for people that are parking their domains in any case. It allows you to host/park domains when you have 10 or 20 or 50 domains that you can’t be bothered setting up WP for each and putting in content. And the catch is that it costs you $1 per domain for life. You won’t have the same flexibility as you would with your own WP installation but a lot of people with 100s of domains are not looking for that.

I am new to this so excuse my naivety as I ask this, I thought that some hosting accounts offered unlimited bandwidth.
The one popular host either host gator or host monster also offered unlimited domain hosting as well?

Sean, the thing with WhyPark is that it’s $1 per domain for life. Not to mention they have the system in place so that you don’t have much work to do on a per domain basis.
Hostgator and other hosting companies charge you a monthly fee, and you have to do all the hard work yourself.
That’s the main difference.

Is anyone aware of a rating service for domain parking companies ? Does DNjournal have anything like this in their archives ?

Currently testing 25 domains with why park that were parked at Sedo and Fabulous. So far results are good. Software platform very easy to use.

June 18th, 2008 at 8:12 pm
@jose, yep WhyPark allows you to park the domains you own. In order to park, you have to first own a bunch of domains. Cheers, John

Can you use them for adult domains?
June 18th, 2008 at 10:46 pm
@Sam, I believe you can. I have seen adult domains parked with WhyPark. You would have to contact then to be sure though.
