T.R.A.F.F.I.C concludes with yearly awards

This year’s T.R.A.F.F.I.C domain conference concluded in Miami, Florida with the handing out of its annual awards. T.R.A.F.F.I.C hands out it’s version of the Acadamy awards for the domaining industry – coined the We Get It! Awards – for recognition of the value of domains, and contribution to the domain name industry.

This year’s winners are Russian Standard Vodka and Steve Forbes, CEO of Forbes.com.

Russian Standard Vodka sells more then 1.3 million cases of vodka every year. "Domainers chose Russian Standard Vodka because they are pleased to see a retail company figure out the power of owning a generic domain that is also a category," says Rick Schwartz, cofounder of T.R.A.F.F.I.C. and WADND. "Russian Standard Vodka is now the vodka king the world over. They have positioned their company to not only be the leader in vodka, but to take advantage of the tens of thousands of visitors that will be delivered to their door step in the form of type in traffic, forever."

Steve Forbes was selected because he is an expert in finance who understands the power and value of domains and embraced the internet early on while others were still undecided. Forbes.com gets over 15 million month visitors.

Each year WADN – world association of domain name developers – organizers of the three T.R.A.F.F.I.C events count votes from their voting members ( anyone that attended any of the T.R.A.F.F.I.C events ). The other awards handed out this year are :

Domainer of the Year: Kevin HamBest Overall Domain Solution: Moniker

Best New Click Program: Skenzo

Domain Hall of Fame: Sahar Sarid and Frank Schilling

WADND Seal of Approval: none this year.
