Fusu Domain Stock Exchange in Beta

Posted on October 18th, 2007 by admin in Buying & Selling, Domain News | 4 Comments »

The world’s first Domain Stock Exchange has been launched in Beta mode this month by Fusu.

Finally, someone has made the idea of domain name liquidity possible. Domainers can list shares of their domain name and gain financial benefit without losing their domain name. Investors can purchase shares in domain names and hence gain benefits from the rising value of domains.

Fusu is the clearing house and earns a percentage of each domain name listing. Domainers can list up to 45% of their domain name and investors can purchase shares and trade shares of this domain name.

“Going public” happens when the domain owner sells shares of its domain to the public for the first time. This is called an Initial Domain Offering, or IDO.

Prior to going public, a domain owner contacts Fusu to advise them about how many shares to offer and the price of the shares. Approval is based on verification of the domain owner, fitness of the domain, and realistic market value. Once approved, investors can buy shares and sell them on the Fusu exchange.

The beta version of Fusu is currently operating with virtual money until November 1st 2007 when it will launch in it’s real version using real money. By the way even though their official name is Fusu.com, they do actually own DomainStockExchange.com.

So get going and list your domains at Fusu.
