Cowboys.com saga resolved
Posted on October 22nd, 2007 by admin in Domain News | No Comments »
Only a few days after the sale of Cowboys.com fell through due to the reported back-down of the Dallas Cowboys, the name has been auctioned off in the Moniker.com silent auction.
I blogged about the sale break-down here where a representative of the Dallas Cowboys was reported to have made a bid of $275,000 for the domain name, but backed down after citing misunderstanding of the sales price.
In the end, the name has been purchased by a group of domain investors led by Eric Rice. The auction had a reported 6 bids and ended on $370,000.
When asked about the reported sale in an email, Rice stated:
We have been studying the thriving country and western market for over 6 months and are glad to finally have the domain needed to proceed in the category.
