Surge in .us registrations reported by 1&1

The world’s largest webhost by known servers, 1&1 internet is reporting an increase in .us registrations by US companies. Due to the large amount of names being already taken in the .com tld, more and more US companies are turning to the .us tld in order to get a quality keyword name.

1&1 Internet claim to be the leading registrar in the United States tld, with over 53,000 .us registrations to date and a 12% growth in the last 6 months.

The .us tld gives the website an American identity, letting visitors know the business is located in the United States
