.CAT reaches 25,000 registrations

The .CAT tld reached 25,000 registration yesterday (Oct 31, 2007), less then two years since their official launch.

"It is a marvellous achievement," said Jordi Iparraguirre, Director General of Fundació puntCAT, "but we are even more pleased with the number of pages in Catalan as well as our ratio of pages per domain name which is in the top ten for TLDs around the world."

Domains under the .CAT tld can be purchased by anyone but it is a requirement to provide at least some content in the Catalan language on pages under a .CAT domain name. You can find more info about .CAT domains at their website.
