World Domain Count keeps on climbing

I read some interesting statistics today. Did you know there are presently 96,062,782 active domains on the net? What an awesome statistic!

Of course, the majority of those 96 million active domains is made up of .com domains ( 70,961,508 or 74%). A very long way behind, in second place are .net domains ( 10,468,674 or 10.9% ). The .nets are closely followed by the .org domains ( 6,328,620 or 6.6% ). The info domains also have a healthy following, with 4,919,892 active .info domains.

Adding a more interesting twist to the story, in my humble opinion, are the daily figures. 434,545 .com domains were registered in the last 24 hours alone. That is a staggering figure!
