ICANN launched the IDNwiki on 15th October 2007. Now, 6 weeks later they have compiled some user statistics and related information which show an interesting trend. A country code top level domain ccTLD is used to identify a country or dependent territory. ccTlds are two letters long. The creation and delegation of country code top level domains is managed by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority – IANA. The ccTlds usually correspond to the ISO 3166 country codes maintained by the ISO 3166 Maintenance Agency.
