ANZ follows Dell in war against cybersquatters
Posted on December 9th, 2007 by admin in Domain News | No Comments »
ANZ ( Australian New Zealand Bank ) has followed Dell in taking on cybersquatters. Asian cybersquatters used the bank’s name to earn money from two domains by selling links to ANZ’s competitors and pornography sites, reports The Age.
The domains in question are: anzcard.com registered from Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, and anzcards.com belonging to “domainer” James D’Souza in Mumbai, India.
“One advertisement, for mobile ringtones, invited visitors to “out-drink Santa” and a search engine on the site led to a page with links to pornography sites. At the time of writing, the site anzcards.com still held content put there by the domainer, despite ANZ winning the right to reclaim the domain,” reports The Age.
