Network Solutions and ICANN facing class action lawsuit
Posted on February 25th, 2008 by admin in Domain News | No Comments »
Kabateck Brown Kellner, a plaintiff’s only firm, have announced they have filed a class action lawsuit against Network Solutions. ICANN is also named in the lawsuit.
Network Solutions has forced millions of people to buy Internet domain names from them instead of cheaper competitors through a scheme that’s netted the firm millions of dollars.
The Network Solutions domain front-running saga was well discussed in the domaining community after it was revealed they were registering any domain searched through their registration interface, literally monopolizing their client’s domain searches.
It will be very interesting to see how this lawsuit pans out as it could possibly mark a dangerous precedent in the domain name industry if the plaintiff’s were to win.
Kabateck Brown Kellner is one of the nation’s foremost consumer law firms. Its clients have won more than $750 million against Google, Yahoo!, Farmer’s Insurance, Eli Lilly and others. As a plaintiff’s-only firm, Kabateck Brown Kellner is always on the consumers’ side.
