Thanks for this great list! I’m one of the those newbie Wordpress people and have been searching through the wp plugin directory not knowing which plugins are the best ones and which have been integrated into the new version. It’s nice to have a nice list of the essentials.

Great list. In order to prevent Spam, SpamKarma2 is a plugin you might want to look at as well. Also, if you often link to other companies, “alinks” is a great plugin to automatically convert specific words into links.
