Spain’s .es domains move close to a million

The .es domain count went past 907,821 in March this year Spain’s registry announced. The registry recorded huge growth during the first three months of 2008 with 102,494 domains registered representing a growth of 12.7% compared to December of 2007. There were 21,942 new .es registrations in March alone.

.es domains have been more popular than .com domains in Spain in 2008 pointing to the growing popularity of country code top level domains.
