How to transfer a godaddy domain name?

This is a question asked by many domainers in the past considering the complex domain transfer process at Godaddy.
Well… that complex domain transfer process is a thing of the past.
If you log into your Godaddy account and go to your “My domains” section, select a domain name and go to the Change Account section you will notice a completely different screen.
As namebio points out there are now only 2 fields required to initialize a transfer ( or push a domain name ).
You either require a GoDaddy account number / account name or an email address of the new holder to initiate the push.
That’s some great news for Godaddy account holders as the previous process was a real drag.

How To Transfer A Domain Name

I recently transferred some domain names to a new owner via goDaddy, and indeed, the process is much easier that it used to be.
However, there is very little information for new buyers to find out how to actually accept the domain name transfer.
One of my customers became extremely frustrated a while back trying to figure out how to accept the domain transfer that she actually cancelled the sale.
Once you have accepted a transfer once, the process becomes quite obvious. But for newcomers, navigating goDaddy can still be an incredibly frustrating experience.
I couldn’t agree more Val. I never thought the transfer process was hard to initiate, they need to work on the accepting end.
