According to various online rumours Steven Spielberg is about to launch a UFO/Paranormal social network called The Rising or Rising.

TechCrunch indicates that both .com domains have been acquired by Spielberg’s company however a whois check indicates that rising.com is part of Tucows’ portfolio while TheRising.com is registered via Godaddy to Reel Alluring, Inc – Perhaps the word “Reel” is a telling fact in this matter.

The Rising will have original video content with a permanent host in addition to the social network where users can share stories and experiences, tapping into serious demand for this niche. Numerous portals for UFO/paranormal sighting discussion exist ( e.g. AboveTopSecret.com ) and are extremely popular.

TheRising.com is set to launch this summer.
