.CN World’s Largest ccTld

China (.cn) has overtaken Germany (.de) as the world’s largest country code top level domain name. With an average of around 500,000 .cn domain names registered monthly it is safe to assume there are more than 12,300,000 .cn domain names registered compared to 12,098,279 .de names registered at the time of writing.

The .cn and .de ccTLDs (country code top level domains) are larger in number of registrations than any of their competitors with the next highest volume ccTLD being .uk (United Kingdom) with 6,880,775.
