NameSeek.com.au – Another Aussie Domain Aftermarket
Posted on June 25th, 2008 by admin in Buying & Selling, Domain News | 1 Comment »
Following Australian registry (Auda)’s recent change of policy loosening transfer rules for .com.au domain names which took effect 1st June 2008 I recently blogged about the first Aussie website to auction .com.au domain names.
Well, it appears this is not the only site aiming to get in on the action early ( thanks to ruth for the heads up ). NameSeek.com.au also launched June 1st 2008 ( actually June 2nd because of certain technical difficulties ).
According to their website “The Australian Domain Name Aftermarket is Australia’s number 1 domain auction website that allows it’s users to manage their entire domain portfolio. Nameseek will allow you to buy and sell domain names and websites, funds can be easily transferred using PayPal and transactions can be securely finalised via Escrow”. Standard stuff, really.
Although both sites offer domain auction services for .com.au domains, these are extremely early days. Currently both sites feature a small collection of domains with a set of unreasonable prices but I am sure they are both working hard on getting word out about their websites and things should pick up in the future.
With the auDa policy change so recent, these are baby steps for the Aussie domain name market but as they say, the early bird catches the worm and these guys are on the right track.
As a fellow Aussie I feel I should help their cause so do check out both NameSeek.com.au and DomainShed.com.au.

Hi there…Just wondering whether there is a market for expiring domains in Australia as there is overseas? There is an “expired ” aussie domain i am after and i assume it’s still in limbo but I can’t for the life of me find any companies who operate like namejet and the like and offer expired domains.
Is there such a market yet in Australia?
Thanks
Edmund
