Mexico City to host 34th annual ICANN meeting

Mexico City, Mexico has been selected to host the 34th Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) Public Meeting from 1-6 March 2009. The host proposal was put forward by the Mexican Internet Association (AMIPCI) and was accepted by ICANN at it’s meeting on 26 June 2008.

“ICANN looks forward to its first meeting in Mexico,” said Paul Levins, ICANN’s Executive Officer and Vice President - Corporate Affairs. “Mexico has been a great supporter of ICANN since its inception.”

The dedicated website for the meeting as well as the meeting venue will be the announced in the near future.

Additionally, ICANN’s next meeting will be held 2-7 November in Cairo, Egypt at the Intercontinental CityStars. The meeting is free to attend, and open to any interested person. To get more information about either meeting go to the ICANN press release.
