Six Apart, the owners of the domain name Blogs.com have finally decided to make use of it, by creating a blogging directory – surprise surprise.
Six Apart are the creators of blogging platform TypePad and free blogging service Vox. They also own the All-in-One Social Publishing Platform MovableType.
According to TechCrunch, the Blogs.com directory will feature 1,200 blogs sorted into business, entertainment, news & politics, life, technology, student life, and top 10 lists. The directory will be edited by five human editors and the top 10 lists will be prominent. If you are looking for some screenshots before the thing gets launched, check them out at TechCrunch.
Will be interesting to see how the new directory compares to things like Blogged.com, BlogCatalog.com, BlogHub.com etc. Blogs.com’s main advantage is their type-in traffic, if they have any.
