LetsEat.at – A Cool Use Of A Domain Hack
Posted on September 22nd, 2008 by admin in Domain News | 5 Comments »
There are some domain hacks that you just know will succeed when you read it out loud. One of those domain hacks is LetsEat.At – a domain name registered in the Austrian tld.
Combine that with a great website and you have an awesome product. Letseat.at is a free online website builder for restaurant owners. It doesn’t require any knowledge of HTML or code and allows restaurant owners to create and maintain their establishment’s website with the help of a simple admin console.
Although all this is possible with services like WordPress or Blogger, Letseat.at is special because it is customized to suit a restaurant owner’s tastes. Owners can choose from a great collection of themes, put up cool looking menus, post daily specials and create and post restaurant coupons. The menus are also iPhone ready.
An awesome service with a great hack domain name. Thoughts?

I like the concept and the content; however, the hack itself is not effective. “Let’s at…” is an incomplete sentence. An effective domain hack would be, for example: letse.at
Actually, I beg to differ.
A potential customer may have their website at:

I think its great, there is a service at go.to that provide these types of name. I believe they have 3,000,000 plus free variations being used on the web… Think about the value of LetsEat.At going up if it gets used by numerous restaurants.
BTW – Why don’t we call letse.at a “domain hack” and letseat.at a “domain phrase hack” to try to differentiate the two types of domains in the future?

I’ve just created a website for my local cafe and it took 15 minutes with this new free web builder:

Very easy, user friendly, perfect for newbies. I think it’s a great idea, but I do hope they come up with a way to remove their google ads from their client websites (they say it’s in the works).

All lowercase, it looks like “LetSeat.at”. I generally avoid names that don’t pass this ambiguity test… Related: DineAt.com recently dropped and it being tasted…
