PremierDomains.com – A New Domain Name Aftermarket Launches

NameMedia have today announced what seems to be a marketing agreement with the newly launched Internet domain marketplace, PremierDomains.com which basically means NameMedia’s AfternicDLS global domain sales platform will be the exclusive provider of aftermarket domain names to PremierDomains.
According to their press release, PremierDomains.com customers have access to more than 800,000 business targeted domain names from NameMedia.
NameMedia’s Marketplace senior vice president and general manager Pete Lamson said,
“As the world’s leading premium domain name marketplace, NameMedia has developed the world’s largest network of SMB targeted resale marketing partners. Our partnership with PremierDomains.com expands our global network and satisfies the growing demand for quality domains names in the SMB market. The PremierDomains.com partnership we are announcing today is an important milestone towards satisfying market demand.”
“The Afternic Domain Listing Service has established itself as the industry’s leading venue for the sale of premium domains,” said Michael Lindsey, Founder and President of PremierDomains.com. “We’ve been impressed with their consistently high quality standards and we’re thrilled with the partnership.”
Amongst the features offered by PremierDomains.com is a unique interface allowing members to customize their listings with titles or catchy slogans. Listing a domain name is free with a 10% commission fee on sales ($50 minimum). Lindsey also goes on to say,
“While creating a professional appearance and confidence-building platform for our buying customers, we are also striving to employ custom services for our selling and listing customers including member-only benefits like new listing email notifications and specials.”
It will be interesting to see this new Aftermarket develop. I would like to know what they offer that makes them stand out amongst the other alsoruns as currently Sedo, NameJet, SnapNames and Pool pretty much dominate the market. In my opinion this new venture is further limited by the fact that they are tied to listing NameMedia domain names only which pretty much makes them just an exponent of the NameMedia offering.

This could be interesting. I think there are a lot of factors limiting them from competing with the “big boys” so to speak but who knows. Maybe they will expand past just NameMedia in the future.
