Vint Cerf has posted an article on the ICANN blog in memory of Jon Postel (the founder of ICANN) and the IPv4 system as we know it. Jon Postel once famously said “Be liberal in what you accept, and conservative in what you send” – a statement which he obviously meant in the context on Internet Protocols but one which can be applied to the complex cultural mix of the world we live in today.
