FeedBurner Not Getting Pinged
In the last couple of weeks I noticed something strange about my blog - every time I wrote a new post I had to manually go to FeedBurner.com and ping my blog feed in order for it to get updated - my blog RSS feed was not getting updated automatically even after 30 minutes.
As I hadn’t changed any of my blog configuration I assumed the list of ping services under my blog admin Settings -> Writing contained a reference to the Feedburner ping service as it was getting pinged in the past.
Well, today I got tired of manually pinging my feed via FeedBurner “troubleshootize” options so I checked my Settings -> Writing and lo and behold the Update Services list did not contain any reference to a FeedBurner ping service. It did contain a reference to the Pingomatic service so I assume this is what was updating FeedBurner in the past - but perhaps Pingomatic has stopped working?
Anyways, I updated my Update Services with a new list and now my FeedBurner feed is getting pinged and updated automatically.
Here is the list of update services I use now ( I got them from WordPress codex ) :

Due to the acquisition by Google, Feedburner has changed the ping service address to:
http://ping.feedburner.google.com
Unfortunately Feedburner hasn’t it made clear enough.
Yes, you owe me one

It’s actually http://ping.feedburner.com not http://ping.feedburner.google.com.
http://ping.feedburner.google.com leads to nowhere.
