Is Moniker Having Some Software Problems?

Posted on October 6th, 2008 by admin in Domain News | 2 Comments »

I love Moniker. There, I said it. It is one of my favourite registrars both due to the continued quality of service they provide and because they have never lost a customer’s domain name for any reason.

Recently, I have noticed some anomalies while using their website.

I transferred 2 domain names to Godaddy a few weeks ago but my Moniker account stills shows the two domain names listed in My Domains. Obviously, the domains are now at Godaddy ( I changed their DNS and am using the domain names for websites ) so obviously the Moniker system failed to update following the transfer.

The Moniker affiliate system has been having a few update problems recently too. For a while it failed to track any commissions for me even though I was sending thousands of hits it’s way. This problem has gone away after a couple of complaints from me. More recently, on pay day a few days ago I was paid fairly and on time but my Moniker affiliate system balance stills says I am owed a commission ( a commission that has already been paid ) – another update issue?

It all comes down to CMS issues it seems as information is not being updated – even though everything else works fine. Perhaps Moniker is in the process of moving to a new software? I am hoping someone from Moniker reads this and enlightens us as I believe they are a top registrar and I love working with them.

I have had the same problem when transferring away from Moniker. They call it a ‘ghost’ record. This is very scary. It means that domains listed in our account may not actually be there.
