Wall Street Journal Covers Domain Naming Rights
Posted on October 14th, 2008 by admin in Domain News | No Comments »
Ben Worthen of the Wall Street Journal has written an article discussing ICANN’s changes to the gTld Naming System.
The article talks about the lack of available names in the current naming system and why next year’s changes will provide us with “the opportunity to do the same thing that city planning did for cities for the Internet”.
The article provides quotes from various folks who look forward to seeing their own gTlds but maintains that “.com is still the Boardwalk and Park Place of the Internet – because it’s the best-known top-level domain.”
Nice to see domaining get yet more mainstream coverage.
