Cold.com to be Auctioned With $1 Million Reserve

Patent Kinetics, LLC, an intellectual property strategy, evaluation, and brokerage company has announced that Cold.com will be auctioned in late November with a minimum acceptable bid of US$1 million.

“We anticipate exceptionally strong interest in Cold.com,” said Bob Weber, Managing Director, Patent Kinetics, LLC. “Marketing, advertising, brand management, public relations professionals, and other executives should carefully evaluate how the unique Cold.com domain name and web presence could figure prominently in their efforts to extend brand equity by leveraging consumers’ brand and product associations with the word ‘cold’.”

Weber goes on to note that the list of product categories and vertical markets that could make use of Cold.com include but are not limited to:
* Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages;
* Cold medicines and pharmacies;
* Ice cream, milk, and other dairy products;
* Home heating and cooling;
* Travel and leisure;
* Winter sports and recreation;
* Refrigeration;
* Cold storage facilities;
* Computer software; and
* Video games.

Auction Details:
Sealed bids must be received no later than 5 p.m., Eastern Standard Time, Friday, November 14, 2008. The minimum acceptable bid is US$1 million. The sale to the highest bidder is expected to close in early December.
