What’s Your Name? CutOutDissection.com
Posted on October 20th, 2008 by admin in Domain News | No Comments »
Jennifer Thornburg of Asheville, N.C. has legally changed her name to CutOutDissection.com – to protest animal dissections in schools.
The domain name redirects to a page on Peta.com – the official website of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals organisation, where she is currently an intern.
“I normally do have to repeat my name several times when I am introducing myself to someone new,” she told The Asheville Citizen-Times for a story last week. “Once they find out what my name is, they want to know more about what the Web site is about.”
Cutout, as she now prefers to be called, helped create a dissection-choice policy at Asheville High in October 2007. The policy allows students who have ethical or religious objections to dissection to complete an alternative assignment.
Obviously, this stunt has worked as the story that originally appeared in the Asheville Citizen Times has spread around the web like wildfire.
We can expect many copycats now it’s been done
