Twitter Reaches 1 Billion Tweets

We recently covered Twitter with an in depth analysis of how you can use Twitter to drive traffic to your websites. Well, Twitter has just reached the massive figure of one billion twitter messages. That’s a hell of a lot of micro-messaging if you ask me!

Twitter has reached this milestone in two years and three months having launched in July 2006. Interestingly, the folks at TechCrunch compare Twitter to Meebo and other IM giants, even though the main purpose of Twitter is not IM.
