Windows Live Search Rebranding – Kumo.com?

According to various reports on the web, Microsoft have control over the 4 letter domain name Kumo.com and are aiming to use it rebrand their Windows Live Search in an effort to separate it from Live.com sometime next year.
Kumo means cloud or spider in Japanese – which certainly is a cool name for a search engine but I wonder why Microsoft is going through another rebranding effort.
Evidence that Kumo.com is controlled by Microsoft can be seen by doing a tracert Kumo.com in your command prompt. Here is what it returned for me:
