EnCirca Inc. is accepting domain applications for national trademarks as of today. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis by submitting them at www.encirca.com.

“.tel is changing how consumers will locate contact information online. We are excited to be able to offer this new, fresh domain to our customers,” says Thomas Barrett, President of leading domain registrar, EnCirca. “We encourage trademark owners to register .tel domains or risk missing out on being listed in the new global, ‘live’ contacts directory.”

A .tel domain provides organizations of all sizes a named listing with unlimited contact information in a global directory, accessible from any device connected to the Internet. We explained in an earlier post why .Tel is so different, even infrastructure-wise, when compared to other tlds.

“Trademark owners can trust that potential customers will find them online with ease and that their online brand identity will be safeguarded by registering .tel with EnCirca,” says Barrett.

  1. RKB says:

I am not sure what exactly is the purpose of .tel?

If its just publishing info in a global directory, then we already have enough directories in my opinion. Why do we need .tel domains for this purpose?

    Just few questions…..

  2. Great post! As the owner of a site that is for sale, dedicated to the tel reseller, I’m glad to see this made news on the site. I’m surprised at how many individuals are not familiar with the tel domain names.

    Thanks for sharing!
