It’s Official – 13,000,000 .CN Registrations

A while back we predicted that the ccTld (Country code top level domain) for China .CN had gone past the 13 million mark in domain name registrations – in October the total number of registrations of .CN domains was 12,915,737 .CN extension and with an average of 400,000 domain names registered per month we concluded that November had seen registrations reach the 13 million mark.

We were right, as can now be seen from the official counter at cnnic.net.cn which reads 13,337,889 .CN registrations to date as of November 31, 2008.

.CN is by far the largest ccTld with .DE taking up the second place with 12,461,490 registrations and .UK trailing far behind in third place at 7,277,705 registrations.
