High End Food Dropshipper Foodzie – Bad Domain Choice?
Posted on December 17th, 2008 by admin in Domain News | 3 Comments »
I just learned from TechCrunch that high end food dropshipper / vendor Foodzie has raised seed round funding to the amount of $1 million from noted investor Jeff Clavier of SoftTech VC, First Round Capital, and a number of angel investors.
That’s quite a bit of dough for a startup that features 25 vendors ranging from Vermont and California cheese makers to specialty BBQ sauces from Smokin’ Joe Jones.
Hopefully they put that funding to good use as their business seems to be on the up, but of more concern is their domain choice. I had to recheck this post 3 times just to make sure I didn’t write Foodsie instead of Foodzie – not to mention Foodsy. They also seem to mention that they cater to foodies – which just adds to the confusion.
Perhaps it’s time they put some of that money towards some defensive domain purchases to avoid any problems down the track.
