The .CZ ccTld Passes 500,000 Registrations Mark

NIC.CZ, the domain registry for the .CZ domain name (ccTld for the Czech Republic), have announced – as picked up by Domain News – that they have passed the 500,000 domain registrations mark.

NIC.CZ have seen a steep climb in registrations since the introduction of their own registration system in October 2007 – FRED. In just the year following the introduction of FRED, NIC.CZ have recorded over 200,000 new registrations.

“The Czech domain register is one of the fastest growing globally. If compared to 2007 there was an approximately 35 percent increase in .CZ domains registrations,” said Ondřej Filip, CZ.NIC CEO.
