JournalSpace.com Domain Name For Sale After Ex-Employee Deletes Harddrives
Posted on January 5th, 2009 by admin in Domain News | 3 Comments »
JournalSpace.com was a blogging platform along with the many others available on the web but not any longer thanks to an ex-employee and no backups.
Recently, all the data on the company’s harddisks disappeared and attempts to retrieve the data were in vein as someone had overwritten the disk – according to DriveSavers.
It appears an employee who was looking after JournalSpace’s IT sabotaged the harddrives just before leaving the company – reportedly he was fired for stealing from the firm.
With no data and no service to offer, JournalSpace had no option but to put the domain up for sale with an offer of 6 months free hosting included. The company hopes to release their software as an open source release under a different name in the near future.

Really? this really happens?
I sympathize with JournalSpace.com, but i dont think any sites doesn’t have a right to be a blog site if they dont have back-ups. The end victims here are the bloggers and not the site.
Let’s look at the bright side, It’s a good thing it happen as early as now.
Look for a more reliable and popular site.
JournalSpace.com is up for sale, its on eBay right now. It has 3 days left and it already bid up to $2600 You get the net version too
What an evil thing to do, they should have made more copies of the backup disks though, maybe they will learn from this mistake if they ever choose to go down the same path.
