FeedBurner Accounts Moving To Google
Posted on January 22nd, 2009 by admin in Domain News | No Comments »
I just checked my Feedburner account and noticed an notification in a yellow bar at the top of the screen telling me that Feedburner accounts are moving to Google.
Basically what is happening is Google is merging Feedburner accounts with Google accounts so users will be able to monitor their feed stats and make use of other (new) features via their Google accounts. Google mentions security, reliability and a more integrated experience as reasons for the merge.
Google is planning to have all accounts moved by February 28, 2009. Currently, all AdSense publishers can update their account i.e. move their Feedburner account to Google. If you don’t have an AdSense publisher account, you are encouraged to apply.
If you are wondering whether you will lose any subscribers or whether your feeds.feedburner.com url will still work – No, you will not lose any subscribers and yes, your feedburner url will still work (it will redirect to your new feed address at Google).
