Free Auctions And No Commissions At Domains.com!

Posted on September 9th, 2009 by admin in Domain News | 1 Comment »

domainscomDomains.com launched their new Domain Auction platform on September 7th to announce their arrival in the Domain Auctions business.

What makes Domains.com special and different from other existing auction platforms is the fact they are offering free listings and 0% commission on all transactions.

Domains.com director Chris Hornby said,

“We believe that when you use Domains.com, we are in debt to you, not the other way round. The more high quality domains listed on the site, the better the service we are able to offer.”

In addition, Domains.com has added private chatrooms to help domainers discuss and negotiate deals in a safe environment, something that site designer and developer Walter Long says should make the website more user friendly.

“Our goal is provide an all-round user friendly experience for our customers and to make it as accessible and inexpensive as possible. In today’s environment, the only way to stay ahead of the game is strive to be as efficient as possible so as to keep costs to a minimum and to always put the customer first. We believe our competitors are behind the curve in this respect, and this provides us with a great opportunity to step up to the plate and re-define the industry.”

To kick things off a whole bunch of premium names are up for auction including : Plan.com, Write.com, Advise.com and Scarce.com.

Interested parties can test drive the new platform here.

  1. Alan says:

the site stinks – half the site doesn’t have scroll bars so you cant see what the whole section reads.

This is a prime example of a domain owner who doesn’t have a clue how to develop.

The concept is good – the execution … horrible.
