WorldDomainCup.com – An Interesting Idea
Posted on October 15th, 2009 by admin in Domain News | No Comments »
Interlink – an ISP hailing from Japan – have launched an interesting website dubbed “the World Domain Cup” to coincide with the upcoming new gTld round that is to launch early 2010.
The World Domain Cup pits domainers from across the world in a contest of wits – domainers (or anyone for that matter) are asked to submit their suggestion for a new gTld extension. The winning suggestion will receive $10,000 from Interlink and a revenue share of $1 for every new registration of the new gTld with Interlink for the next 10 years – a possibly massive amount of money.
The World Domain Cup is obviously a promotional campaign for the ISP however it is quite a novel idea. It will help promote the new gTld process and the winning entry will receive $10,000 + a possible fortune in revenue share if the winning suggestion is successfully registered by Interlink.
If you have a bit of time and like to participate in contests of this kind then go on over to the WorldDomainCup website and submit your entry.
Interlink have partnered with RegistryASP for provisioning of new gTLD registry solutions and services and will be using RegistryASP software to administer the winning entry once the application for the new gTld is completed.
