Posted on October 18th, 2009 by admin in Domain News | 3 Comments »
Yahoo Inc have won the domain name Yahoo.tel via a National Arbitration Forum decision. The domain name was previously owned by David Blanco from Oviedo, Kingdom of Spain.
Yahoo submitted their complaint on August 20, 2009, and following a non response from Mr Blanco (the respondent), the panel ruled in favour of Yahoo Inc for several reasons including that the respondent registered and used the yahoo.tel domain name in bad faith.

.
it’s an inevitable decision with a so direct name like Yahoo.tel
.
A lawsuit has been settled at the spanish Courts of Justice against that decission. The point is the non-competence of tha NAF
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!
Yahoo has to give Yahoo.tel back to David Blanco. Actually the domain http://www.yahoo.tel only contains a link to Mr. Blanco’s Blog http://www.davidblancoramos.es .
According Spanish Law, the NAF and in consecuence, the ICANN, don“t have competence in this case.

This case could be a good strike to our american companies that always think that can legislate through the world over the consumers rights!
David Blanco, you have all my support.
