Sedo is on fire this week. Hot on the tracks of the blockbuster sale of Resumes.com for $400,000, Sedo have announced another huge sale on their .co.uk site – they sold software.co.uk for a massive £150,000 which equates to roughly $248,000 US.
According to the way back machine, software.co.uk had a page up as far back as 1997 – the page boasted a couple of links on behalf of the “Excited Particles Software Limited” company. The owners didn’t do much with the domain name in 1999, 2000 and 2001, choosing to display a simple “for sale” page, while in 2002 they put up a price, a paltry £20,000.
Things finally improved in 2005, when the owners launched a software-selling website, and continued in this form in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
Judging from the domain’s current whois record, the new owners of software.co.uk are none other then software.com aka Software.com Holdings Pty Limited – an Australian owned company. The whois record shows that the info is up-to-date with the last change made on 20-Oct-2009.
Good sale for the owner who as mentioned above advertised the domain name for £20,000 in 2002 and sold it now for a massive £150,000.

Good sale. People are now beginning to take co.uk domains seriously. I wonder how much benz.co.uk is worth.
