Want A Chance To Lease A $125,000 Domain For Free For A Year?
Posted on November 23rd, 2009 by admin in Domain News | 4 Comments »
DomainSponsor have announced that their annual DOMAINfest Global (DFG) conference, scheduled for January 26-28, 2010 in Santa Monica, California, will debut a contest called LAUNCHfest – a contest that aims to reward the most innovative and viable plan for building an online business around one of ten undeveloped, premium domain names made available by Oversee.net.
The winner of the LAUNCHfest contest will win the right to lease their chosen domain name for five years for the annual rate shown in the table below. To help the winner focus cash flow on launching and growing their business, Oversee.net will waive the first year lease payment – therefore rendering the first year’s lease as free. At any point in time during the five year lease, the winner can purchase the domain name for the price shown in the table below.
Here are the 10 names and their lease and buy-out prices:
| Domain Name options | Annual Lease | Purchase Price |
| Planners.com | $25,000 | $125,000 |
| AdvertiseHere.com | $25,000 | $125,000 |
| StartABusiness.com | $15,000 | $75,000 |
| GoOut.com | $15,000 | $75,000 |
| RealEstateNetwork.com | $10,000 | $50,000 |
| BoostSales.com | $10,000 | $50,000 |
| SiteFinder.com | $5,000 | $25,000 |
| WebIncentives.com | $5,000 | $25,000 |
| AnythingForSale.com | $2,000 | $10,000 |
| DailyPicks.com | $2,000 | $10,000 |
To be eligible for the prize, select a name from the table above, create a website development and monetization plan, and submit key elements of your plan using their online submission form.
The deadline for submissions is 1/15/10. Up to five finalists will be chosen on 1/19/10 and given the chance to present a 5-minute summary of their business plan to the DOMAINfest audience and a panel of expert judges during the LAUNCHfest session on 1/28/10 at DOMAINfest.
Points will be awarded by judges and by the audience with the winner being the finalist who received the highest combined score from the panel of judges.
The big question is: are these domains really worth $125,000 each?

Lame Idea.
These domains seem a bit over-valued, IMO.

Nicely pointed out Anil. On first look I personally liked Planners.com (wedding planners, event planners etc), StartABusiness.com (tips on business startups), AdvertiseHere.com (general advertising, nice name) the most.
