A Dissection Of DNXpert Monetization

Posted on November 29th, 2009 by admin in Domain News | No Comments »

Following a public discussion with Joel Ohman of Domain Superstar with regards to the earning potential of a blog as opposed to a “real” website, here is an outline of how DNXpert is monetized.

* We use OIOPublisher to sell advertising space on our blog. Even though we had the option of using Google Ad Manager to do the same, we find OIOPublisher to have less of a learning curve. We sell ad spaces in the following sizes: 125×125, 240×60, 140×600 and text ads. For more information you can visit our advertise page.

* We have a 1000+ member newsletter subscriber list to whom we send regular lists of expired domains. The names are linked to the Godaddy and Moniker affiliate programs, programs which have paid out generously over the years.

* We promote our domain name ebook and blog traffic building ebook, both via our blog and via our newsletter. We are currently approaching the 1000-copies-sold landmark.

* We promote and recommend the FatCow and Godaddy hosting packages to people who are looking for web hosting for their website.

* We sell our ad space on our Twitter account via ad.ly – the Twitter monetization network.

* We promote some of the top domaining affiliate programs – programs which genuinely help folks develop and monetize their domain names. Our favorites include Commission Ritual, Wordze and of course, folks never miss our write up on domain monetization videos.

* We sell adspace via Traffiq – the premium advertising marketplace and we are avid supporters of MarketLeverage – a top Cost Per Affiliate network.

* We promote the SnapNames affiliate program by promoting deleting and listed names from SnapNames on our blog. The SnapNames affiliate program is run through Essociate

* And finally, we get a lot of search traffic to our Google banned, search engine position and broken link checkers – traffic which tends to lead to more sales and newsletter subscribers.
