Google Zeitgeist 2009 Is Out
Posted on December 1st, 2009 by admin in Domain News | No Comments »
Google have just published the Zeitgeist – a.k.a the spirit of the times – for 2009.
To compile the Zeitgeist, Google techs studied the aggregation of billions of queries people typed into Google search and data from Insights for Search, Google Trends and internal data tools.
It’s interesting to see that Michael Jackson searches have dominated search all across the world. The term “michael jackson” was both the “fastest rising global” and “fastest rising in entertainment” term beating out competition from facebook, twitter, transformers, eminem etc.
The fastest rising food and drink term was “acai berry” while the fastest rising sports term was Real Madrid, probably because of the crazy spending they did.
It’s always fun to see this end of year web “popularity contest” isn’t it?.
