RegistryPro, the domain registry of the .pro gTld, is accepting Request for Proposals (RFP) from today for all one- two- and three-character .PRO names.
In a release schedule published on the RegistryPro website, the registry plans to release all 1, 2 and 3 character .Pro domains over the coming weeks.
“Many well-qualified and committed professional organizations, companies and individuals will soon have the privilege of owning some of the most prime real estate on the Internet,” said Lucas Roh, CEO of RegistryPro. “We’re excited to offer these names to an eager public.”
Interested parties can distinguish themselves as candidates by submitting detailed proposals outlining how they intend to use and promote a name if awarded.
Names not awarded through RFP will also be made available through two additional allocation methods: via auction and subsequently on a first come, first served general availability basis.
“With our three-step process, prospective registrants will have several ways to acquire these ultra-premium names,” said Roh. “With names like i.pro, ny.pro and 777.pro coming on the market in such a short period of time, we expect to see a flood of interest in .PRO in Q1 of 2010.”
“Easily identifiable alpha-numeric three-character names just don’t come on the retail market that often,” said Roh. “.PRO has over 43,000 available, so we’re very excited about our growth potential in 2010!”
