I guess that it also helps who is the renter and why are the reasons for him to rent.
This year there were presidential elections in Spain, and the current president, Jose Luis Rogriguez Zapatero, who is known in Spain as ZP, decided to to rent zp.com from Adam ****er, the numbers of this rental and the conditions weren't reveal, but it only lasted for some months, as the domain is already parked again, so it probably was pretty expensive.
The media said that that it was a lot of money... but who really know apart from ZP, ****er and their people.
Either way it work out good for both of them.
