New Feature: DNXpert Verified Traders

We have a new feature thanks to a suggestion from our very own bionichead.

As a result of this new feature, every Premium member is awarded a DNXpert Verified Trader seal that will show up under their iTrader rating:



What does the Verified Trader seal mean?

A Verified Trader seal indicates that a trader has the trust of the DNXpert community. It can be used as a positive factor when determining whether a domainer is safe to trade with (combined with iTrader rating and common sense).

All Verified Traders are Premium members who have paid for premium membership - meaning I have their PayPal details.

It is against a Verified Trader's interest to decide to cheat in transactions (non-payment on a buy, non-delivery or change of mind on a sale) as once a Verified Trader is determined to have traded unfairly they run the risk of forfeiting their Premium fees and losing their Premium membership. They will also be banned from purchasing a Premium membership in the future (and getting verified).

Verified Trader sanctioning will be conducted on a "three strikes you are out" basis as we can only go so far in determining validity of a fraud claim.

We reserve the right to consider each situation on its own merits.

What If Premium Members Cancel Their Premium Subscription?

A formerly Premium member will keep their Verified Trader seal if they were a Premium member for more than 3 months.

How Can Non-Premium Members Get The Verified Trader Seal?

Non-Premium members can become Verified Traders via a once-off fee of $30. If they are found to break any of the above mentioned rules they will similarly be banned from the forum and will not be able to register at the forum or purchase a Premium membership or Trader Verification Seal in the future.

A much needed feature and the "three strikes" method should work because in some circumstances, during the course of the sale some facts may come out which would prevent a successful confirmation of the sale e.g. a seller suppressing some facts, a banned domain etc.,

A buyer or seller should exercise due diligence and common sense as mentioned.

I would like to suggest another criteria for verified traders in addition to the payment of $30, a member should be registered for a minimum no of days before he/she can be verified.

Yep, I am just in the process of getting that feature developed - members can only be verified once they have been a member for a minimum of 30 days.

I am very much against this. I think it should be removed.

I see this (verified trader) feature being taken advantage of. It's false trust. Anyone can buy something and still be a scammer.

You should revamp the program so that it's only with people of X positive iTrader or something of the sort receive it. That's a lot less likely to be exploited.

I also wonder if the button is a bit too big. It seems aesthetically ugly.

Perhaps a smaller icon or on that stretches vertically. It appears to push out the username box. (I'm assuming).

As I said, the Verified Trader should be used in combination with iTrader and common sense. Once implemented, the Verified Trader seal can only be received a month following your payment (date of joining Premium membership or date of seal purchase for non Premium members ) which should filter out some crooks - who can't be bothered to wait a month and risk losing their money.

The fact that paypal/email/IP will be banned if they proceed to cheat will filter out some more.

Think of the Verified Trader seal as another level of security - not a final solution to secure transactions.

Yea I was thinking it's quite large, I like the idea of it but maybe it could be a bit smaller?
