Talking 5 Minute Minisites / www.5minuteminisites.com/?

I have seen this as an alternative to parking. So you can quickly set up many sites with Adsense and affiliate banners.

Has anyone tried this out or alternatively how easy is it to create these kinds of sites yourself i.e. the ones that can run on autopilot and update themselves?

Are these scripts freely available?

Many thanks in advance

Yes there are scripts. One way is of course a blog that updates itself. Probably the easiest way. You can use feeds from various sources and have the blog update itself. You can script this yourself, but if you're looking for software to buy, I'm not sure what is the best out there. Most of them are far more than I'd ever pay for, but you can start looking at stuff like this:

I would really like some info on how to do this myself.

Please let me know where I can learn about the scripts

My web knowledge is slightly ropey but I am considering doing a post grad in a web subject if I need to.

I have found these products too:

Blog Overdrive
RSS2Blog - maybe only blogspot
Blog Solution
RSSGM
YACG

Many thanks for your help...

I found these two wordpress themes recently which do the rss automation stuff on wordpress like popurls.com:

Wordpress Popurls Clone
WP Theme: OneNews | Smashing Free Wordpress Themes

Both are premium (paid) but I think the second one has a free version which is slightly limited.

thanks a lot I will look around and post findings so that maybe I can save some other ppl some time.

one of the options is open source but requires php coding. supposed to be excellent - I am speaking to a php guy to find out how complex the task is...

I've been lurking in the forum for quite awhile and just happened to run across this post.

I have to say I'm a huge fan of Cam Forbes' work (5 Minute Minisites is one of his products). I just checked and I can see he raised the price of the product to a whopping $397 which is kind of steep, but still a bargain in my opinion.

(I was able to get in early and at a lower price.)

He also has another great product called Niche Dominator.

I have to admit, I have been looking and searching for a mini site generating software and I've come across so many of them that my head is spinning. I've seen people talk about YACG, RSSGM, Drupal, sitebuilderelite.com, Joomla, just to name a few...

You have a bunch of unused domains you need to monetize. You could use a parking service (which is pricey), and *maybe* get a bit of a return on your investment over time.

Or you could legitimately build them out, one by one, get some search engine traffic so you can make more money through clickbank, ebay, adsense, amazon, article marketing or whatever else you decide to put up.

That's where 5 Minute Minisites comes in. If you want to create an income stream using "set it and forget it" technology, I think Cam's product is better than anything else out there, hands down!

I hope this helps. Sorry I got into the conversation so late, but it's good to be de-lurked.

- Mad Mike

PS - One more thing before I let this go... Cam's support is by far the best I've ever received on ANY product I've purchased online. Have a question? You get his *personal* email address. Still not answered? He'll do a screen sharing session with you and show you how to use it. You don't see that very often these days.
