Default Regged Domains Thread

I "heard" some people discussing this here at the forums and I thought it's a cool idea.

If you have the motivation and don't mind the publicity, use this thread to post some of the domain names you have registered from the free and Premium lists indicating your reasons behind the purchase and your plans if any for development/use of said domain name.

Members are allowed to suggest uses for each other's domain names - no flaming please.

DAILYPATRIOT.COM - Magazine/News Site
DAILYSNOOP.COM - Magazine/News Site
CACHECLEANUP.COM - Perfect for any cache earasing software
SHOPBREW.COM - Coffee Store
TOONPALACE.COM - A very nice adult name for the toon niche of course.
I don't plan on developing them except perhaps Shopbrew and Toonpalace, I'm more of a squatter.

Just do a google search for it. 3 Mil results, Ad space is filled to the brim (often a good indication of the demand for the keyword). Actual search estimates for it at pretty low though... still a good pick up for reg fee

Hey! Good start!

I'll post some later on tonight, I'm subscribed to several lists so I'll need to filter out the ones from elsewhere. It's good to see domainers being open to discussing thoughts and strategies.

Not to dump on your bubble but
Results 1 - 10 of about 1,300 for "LUGGAGE IMPORTERS". (0.18 seconds)

I grabbed BeerComments.com a while ago.

I have being strong and not bought any of the list yet. but I always read all of them, lookk which are the ones are consider best, and try to see which ones go first. Is a thing I am doing to try to learn what people wants. I pick the ones I like and see if they are taken right away.

That way I can get and idea of how I am doing with picking names, before spending money

Thumbs up Re: Regged Domains Thread

You have to jump in some time Gustavo!
I find the best way to see what people want (end users, not other domainers) is when you get an unsolicited offer.

OK, I went through the old lists, including the old email ones and since February of this year I've regged just over 50 names from DnXpert's lists. One thing I realized even quickly scanning through them is that this number would have been MUCH higher if I was even a little bit quicker on the paypal trigger. Some of the "ones that got away" were really great so those premium lists really are a fantastic deal.

Here's a few I regged and why:

Music/Bands/Subculture:

I work several jobs, the one I love the most is my own office inside a recording studio in Miami. I get to work with bands, artists and record labels to fine-tune their public image and we all know the first step is to get a great .com domain. Many artists make the mistake of thinking a MySpace account is good enough. I make the case that you can't cede your public online presence to a site that has no vested interest in your success. (A vested interest in bands per se sure, but not in your band individually.)
  • AcousticJams.com - (Self explanatory)
  • DeadHeaders.com - (To go with my DeadConcerts.com)
  • FuzzNation.com - (For that famous guitar "fuzz", could be adult too...)
  • HumanChaos.com - (Edgy/Metal band name)
  • LeadAngels.com - (Like "Fallen Angels", reminds me of Led Zeppelin)
  • LiquidVibrations.com - (Reggae or surfer rock band or label)
  • Musicalicious.com - (Record label? Music download site? Software?)
  • PiercingYou.com - (For the pierced ones...)
  • SoundTrail.com - (Music social network or software)
  • StudioTiling.com - (There's LOTS of acoustic tiling in the studio)
  • SubVerses.com - (Lyrical subversion...isn't that what music is all about?)
I've got a huge whiteboard with hundreds of names (including some of these) listed out so they can get a visual impression that you still can get good domains. Many people never get past GoDaddy, give up and never look again. Even if I don't sell them one of my names, having quality domains that I control displayed visually (and not on a computer screen) helps sell them on the concept that I can find them a domain that fits their project(s). There's also a large amount of tattoo artists and body modification, uh, "practitioners" in bands and their entourage so I keep an eye out for those too.

Green/Eco/Environmental:
  • EcoSunshine.com - (Good solar technology domain)
  • SelfTinting.com - (Self-tinting glass keeps buildings cooler & energy bills lower, reducing carbon emissions)
Tech/Internet/Science:
  • DigiClocks.com - (Digital clocks, I like the way it rolls off the tongue)
  • DigitalOffshore.com - (Lotsa traffic yesterday when Google's floating datacenter patent hit the news)
  • MixUpDesign.com - (My partner uses this for his DJ & Web Design site)
  • MultiPublish.com - (There's a lot of publishing formats out there...)
  • Raidcast.com - (Raid is aging tech, but will be a legacy for a long time)
  • RaidJournal.com - (See above)
  • ShadowIp.com - (Anonymous IP address service or shady patent alerts)
  • Shockified.com - (Just like it, could be a Flash developer or a "shock" site)
Adult:
  • DirtyMotion.com - (Don't get sand in the motion lotion...)
  • GraphicPleasure.com - (This will be my adult design site)
  • ScarletBox.com - (Kick-ass brand for a lingerie/adult toys company.)
  • TogaTeens.com - (Well, you get it. )
Short:
  • Flywy.com - (Just liked it, sometimes I do that.)
  • Riisk.com - (Pronounceable 5L, typo of "risk")
  • Sqinz.com - (Brandable 5L, iPod and laptops "skins" are popular)
Other assorted regs:
  • ClassicGuy.com - (Men's attire)
  • FantasyHints.com - (Fantasy Sports)
  • GnarlyGear.com - (Surf/Skate Apparel & Equipment)
  • LaBrewery.com - (I like LA domains, I like beer)
  • LifePayout.com - (I'm also a financial advisor, I sell annuities)
  • PetGremlin.com - (Silly? This gets type-in traffic.)
  • RavingIntellects.com - (I know some of these...would make a good blog)
  • StinkWords.com - (Reminded me of "weasel words", good blog name)
  • SunLooks.com - (Here in Florida I WILL find a buyer for this one)
  • TastyHerbs.com - (For COOKING of course!)
  • uPretend.com - (Well you do, don't you?)
  • VehicleDemo.com - (I wanted this one and it popped up again later)
  • WarDove.com - (Oxymoron, this should be in the bands section)
  • WorldSketch.com - (Parked at Sedo...click, click, click, everyday a click!)
Here's a few that I did not get that I would have:
  • AudioDolls.com - (Great fem band name)
  • DreamBands.com - (Fantasy band game, think "rockstars" on MySpace)
  • OddMinds.com - (I suppose I have one)
  • GrabTorrents.com - (Great name for torrent tracker)
  • InsaneSkater.com - (Know lots of these)
  • TinyToolkit.com - (Have a few of these)
  • Felonistic.com - (Brandable)
  • LiberalGirl.com - (My kinda girl! Good blog name.)
  • AltKink.com - (Awesome adult domain.)
  • SuperSwarm.com - (Torrent tracker)
Another thing I forgot, since John's really cranked up the volume on the quantity of names per list, he's had to leave his witty comments behind. Some that made me chuckle:
Quote:
Need I explain?
vaginalplugs.com

Ta na na na na Cron Man! Linux superhero :
cronman.com
And lastly (I swear), you know that John makes good lists when you see domains you used to own pop up!

Neat. That's a first.
Lol,
I almost bought that domain name just before I posted the list. It reminded me of that Seinfeld episode with the cigar store Indian .
Cheers

I like it. 1 word, dictionary domain.

v.tr.
1. To impose (oneself or one's ideas) on others with undue insistence or without invitation.
2. To thrust out; push forward.
v.intr.
To impose oneself on others.

obtrude
Verb
[-truding, -truded]
1. to push oneself or one's opinions on others in an unwelcome way
2. to be or make unpleasantly noticeable

Do you have a use in mind?
I could see it as a political/media satire site or blog.

You're gonna want to change the title of your Joomla's frontpage article.
In the email alert to this thread I thought you were asking about "WelcomeToTheFrontpage.com"! (Which is taken and parked with Joomla keywords, smart.)

I regged cobrafreaks.com from an old list before the forum was set up. There is nothing on there yet but as soon as I finish up some other development work I'll make the time for it.

I don't think I've regged many others from the lists. That's not to say I don't find the lists useful. I just have to be careful how many domains I purchase as I prefer to develop my domains, for fun/knowledge and for learning how to monetize domains.

I've got a few, not got around to doing anything with the yet though:
  • LinuxMonkeys.com - Going to use it to keep track of tips and hints for Linux I find.
  • Pokeronium.com - An unusual Poker domain, haven't decided exactly what to use it for yet.
  • BBQBud.com - Maybe setup a review/ebay based site for BBQs.
  • ThinkGuitars.com - Trying BANS to see how it goes.
  • SkiersGear.com - Going to try out as another BANS site.
  • TriviaDuck.com - Not sure what to use it for, I just liked the name and could imagine a funny logo with a duck wearing glasses and a mortarboard.

I like LinuxMonkeys.com & ThinkGuitars.com, BBQBud.com would be a good one to develop.
