Default Get Free Private Registration on GoDaddy

There is a loop hole in the Private Registration procedure of the Godaddy. A guy called Chris found it and blogged it here : GoDaddy Free Private Registration Loophole

It seems like lengthy procedure, let me know your ideas on this.

I blogged about something similar ages ago:
Domain privacy coupons with Godaddy | Domain Name News | Domain News | Expired Domains

I don't believe that what Chris says is exactly true - i doesn't actually apply to renewals... only new purchases.

So does that mean that you tried it? I am reallyu interested, I just haven't had time today, but this afternoon I certainly will.

If anyone apart from no3 has tried it please comment if it worked.

I tried it a few days ago and renewing private registration when renewing the domain that had private registration cost the full fee.

It does work on renewing domain names where you did not have private registration previously.

Hey guys, I found the site via the track back on my blog (Ahhh, I love the way the internet has advanced. Yes I know track backs have been around for a while but you get my drift).

Yes dnxpert is right and perhaps I should be more clear. If you already have existing privacy on some of your domains you can not use this loophole to get free privacy. It will only work on your existing domains that you wish to add privacy too.

I haven't tested this yet... but perhaps you could try canceling your privacy on the domain that has it already. Then renew it for a couple years than use the loophole.

I have several more domains I need to buy and can try again there but let me know if this can work for anyone else

Sneaky Sneaky

That should work though don't you think? I haven't tired canceling privacy on any of my domains before.

Public Service Update:

As of Mar 25, 9:30 AM CST, this work around appears not to work.

I tried as the post above specified, but when I added the additional 5 NEW names and checked my cart, the cart gave me the option to add free private registration on only the new names.

The checkbox for free private registration on other domain names was NOT there.
