Detailed Whois Script Suggestions

Has anyone got any links to any good Whois scripts? I'm working on a new project and have found a few good ones, but I'm having to do quite a lot of work to it to extract extra information from the whois output.

Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions for a good whois script.

PS. Hm, come to think of it, this script I refer to is an availability script, not so much a whois script.

Yea almost everyone I've come across only returns wether a domain is available or not, a few te expiry date, but that's about it.
